POMONA, Calif. — Wholesale Tire Distributors (WTD) Inc. has added a rugged-terrain light-truck tire to its Arroyo brand portfolio, the Tamarock RT, a product that WTD says sets a "new standard in rugged performance and style."
The tire, WTD said, tackles both on- and off-road conditions equally, excelling in dirt, sand and rocks while providing a comfortable ride on roads. It is available for dealers to order now.
The Arroyo Tamarock RT has a dual sidewall profile, available in red or black letters.
It offers an aggressive design that includes large, laterally oriented blocks with stepped edges, with concave and convex sidewalls that extend from the shoulder blocks, enhancing off-road traction on rugged terrain.
The tire will be available in more than a dozen sizes, fitting tires with rim diameters of 17 to 24 inches.
According to Arroyo, the tire features a wide, flat contact patch and stable block design that ensures consistent contact with the road, providing smooth handling and enhanced grip.
The tire has lateral grooves and zigzag longitudinal valleys that channel water that helps drivers in wet conditions and on various terrains.
The tire's traction design features "meticulously engineered sidewalls, tread blocks and groove configurations," the company said, while its stepped block edges and interlocking tie elements are designed to reduce irregular wear, prevent stone retention and provide additional biting surfaces.
The company said the Tamarock RT's attributes include:
- Aggressive traction: Lateral grooves and a zigzag design provide grip in wet, mud, snow and sand;
- Stable performance: A wide, flat contact patch and stable block design deliver consistent handling on the road;
- Off-road capability: Concave and convex sidewalls provide extra traction, while stepped block edges offer additional bite for tough terrains; and
- Durability, control: The variable step shape block design reduces irregular wear and improves traction across diverse surfaces.
The tires are being manufactured in Thailand.
