STOW, Ohio — Tyres International, a tire importer and distributor for the past 50-plus years, is changing its name to Ascenso Tires North America to reflect more accurately its operating status since being acquired in mid-2021 by India's Mahansaria Tyres Pvt. Ltd.
Ascenso is the brand name that Mahansaria Tyres (MTPL) is using in North America for the range of agriculture, industrial, construction, earthmover, materials-handling and forestry tires it produces at its two-year-old factory in Panoli, India.
"Since the acquisition, synergies between both companies worked well and helped both the companies to grow rapidly," Mahansaria Tyres Founder Yogesh Mahansaria said, noting that his company has benefited from the distribution expertise and U.S. tire market presence of Tyres International, while Tyres International customers have benefited from a steady supply of quality tires.
Mahansaria claims Ascenso has been one of the fastest-growing tire brands globally since it launched in 2020.
Marty Bezbatchenko, president of the Stow-based company, noted that combining the two family-owned businesses' 35-plus years of experience "creates an effective distribution network and increases success for our customers."
Tyres International was founded in 1970.
In addition to the Ascenso product range, Ascenso Tires North America will continue to import and distribute a number of other tire brands, including ZC Rubber Group's Westlake commercial truck, bus and trailer tires along with Sunrise steel and aluminum truck and trailer wheels
Ascenso Tires North America distributes from three warehouses in the U.S. — Dublin, Ga., Reno, Nev., and Stow — with factory-direct pricing in both container-direct and warehouse programs.
