ATLANTA — Distributor TireHub L.L.C will expand into six new markets by year-end to grow its footprint to 79 tire warehouses in 34 states.
A joint-venture between Bridgestone Americas Inc. and Goodyear, TireHub said the goal was to improve customer service by growing its national coverage. The company ranks as the third largest tire wholesaler in the U.S., based on number of warehouses.
The new distribution centers (D/Cs) are in Shreveport, La. (opened Oct. 17); Beltsville, Md. (Nov. 14); Greenville, S.C. (Nov. 21); Tulsa, Okla. (Dec. 5); Grand Rapids, Mich. (Dec. 5); and Spokane, Wash. (to open this month).
"As a customer-centric company, we are excited to have the opportunity to introduce new customers to the products, programs and service that TireHub has to offer," TireHub CEO Ted Becker said. "Simultaneously, we look forward to elevating the service and experience of existing customers through enhanced availability and delivery timing."
By year-end, TireHub will have opened or expanded 10 D/Cs in 2022 and in total will operate 79 TLCs in 34 states. TireHub said it has plans to expand next year, too.
"Our rapid expansion plans give more dealers and retailers access to our leading breadth and depth of Bridgestone and Goodyear products," Becker said. "2022 was a year of significant growth, and we are excited to continue expanding our footprint in 2023."
Earlier this year, TireHub opened locations in McAllen, Texas; Tucson, Ariz.; and Chicago. The company also expanded its Metairie, La., facility.
The company also expanded its product offerings this year with the addition of Cooper Tires to its portfolio.
"We're committed to providing the right tire at the right time to our dealers and retailers. Our customers are the heart of what we do, and our expansion – both in presence and portfolio—is another opportunity to better meet their needs," Becker said.
