BOUCHERVILLE, Quebec — Call it a high five.
Tire wholesaler Distribution Stox Inc. celebrated its fifth anniversary on Sept. 1, growing from a group of four tire distributors — Pneus Unimax Ltd., Distribution Pneus RT Ltd., Distributon DSP and Distribu-Pneus — that served Quebec into a company whose network extends from Ontario through Quebec and into the Atlantic provinces.
Since its founding, Distribution Stox has made 10 acquisitions and made "major investments" in operations and logistics.
Earlier this summer, it consolidated operations from five area warehouses into a 250,000-sq.-ft. distribution center in Quebec City.
The company advertises having 19 brands available. Earlier this year it struck a deal with Michelin North America to distribute its BFGoodrich, Michelin and Uniroyal brands to dealers in Canada's Atlantic provinces: New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
"We would like to thank all our partners with whom we have been working together for the past five years to achieve the most ambitious objectives of our business plan," Bruno Leclair, president and CEO of Distribution Stox, said.
"We would also like to thank our employees, who have joined this great adventure with great enthusiasm; their dedication and hard work are at the heart of our success. The coast is now clear and we are very confident for the future."
