MIAMI — Tire Group International L.L.C. (TGI) is offering private citizens of Grand Bahama and Abaco Islands free industrial, off-the-road and agricultural tires as part of its effort to help Bahamas residents rebuild from the devastating effects of Hurricane Dorian.
Miami-based TGI is working with Tropical Shipping & Construction Co. Ltd. to arrange shipment of tires to the Bahamas.
TGI's offer comes two weeks after it announced a relief effort for the residents of the Bahamas, who suffered through Hurricane Dorian as it ravaged the island nation Sept. 2-3 with torrential rain and winds of up 185 mph or more.
"As a company, we have continued to ask ourselves what else could we be doing to help our neighbors get back on the feet as quickly as possible," TGI CEO Tony Gonzalez said. "What better way to help than with tires?
TGI said its offer will focus on its Astro house brand. The wholesaler did not specify any limits on its offer.
Bahamian citizens who would like to participate should contact Janice Alvarez, TGI marketing manager, at [email protected].
