QINGDAO, China — Qingdao Nama Industrial Co. Ltd. is returning to the North American market with a product designed for the growing rugged-terrain (R/T) light truck tire sector, the Maxxploit R/T.
Qingdao Nama is rolling out the Maxxploit R/T in 11 sizes — eight P-metric and LT sizes, in 17-, 20- and 22-inch rim diameters, starting at P265/70R17 and ranging up to LT285/55R20 and three flotation sizes (33*12.50R20LT 119R; 35*12.50R20LT 125R; and 35*12.50R22LT 121R) — and plans to add 14 more sizes "over the next few months."
The Maxxploit is the first of a series of consumer tires the Qingdao-based private-brand company plans to roll out in North America this year. The range eventually will include the Maxmach UHP, Maxnova Touring and Maxatggres H/T passenger tires, the company said.
Qingdao Nama is sourcing the Maxxploit lines from Vietnam, but the company declined to identify the manufacturer, citing a confidentiality agreement. Orders are containerload only, according to Nama.
Qingdao Nama earlier this year announced plans for a U.S. office in Los Angeles, but those plans have been delayed for now, the company said, noting it hopes to establish U.S.-based warehousing once the country's economy starts to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nama claims the Maxxploit R/T provides a "quiet and comfortable" ride while the tire's deep "aggressive" sidewall lugs and tread pattern provide capable off-road performance for on- and off-road performance.
Other features include: three-ply carcass construction; reinforced block foundation; wedge block design; and stone ejectors, Nama said.
