NORCROSS, Ga. — Mighty Distributing System of America Inc. has signed Guatamelan tire distributor and retreader Vifrio S.A. to be its first Mighty Auto Parts master distributor in Central America, covering Guatamela.
The partnership with Vifrio represents Mighty's entry into the Central American market, Mighty President Josh D'Agostino said.
"They have a tremendous company with a great history, and we are honored that Mighty is part of their growth strategy for the future," he said.
Founded in 1947 as a Pemex-brand gas station, Vifrio expanded into auto parts and tires and has been a Bandag system retreader since 1956. Vifrio is managed by brothers Rodrigo and Rene Suarez, the third generation of the family to do so.
The company, which closely is aligned with the Bridgestone brand, operates 14 full-service automotive repair shops throughout Guatamela.
The Suarez brothers called partnering with Mighty "one of the best decisions the company has ever made.
"It is so much easier to control our parts inventory with only one supplier," they said in a joint statement. "Also, our profits have improved because the costs we enjoy with Mighty are so competitive. The products are of exceptional quality, customers are accepting the brand, and we have had zero complaints since we started with Mighty."
While this is Mighty's first master distributor in Central America, it has distributors in the Bahamas and Puerto Rico in addition to 95 in the U.S. and two in Canada.
