DANVERS, Mass. — Maxam Tire North America is adding a line of forestry tires under the LogXtra name that the company said is engineered to operate in a range of "abusive" forestry applications.
Danvers-based Maxam Tire, the U.S. importer and distributor of Maxam-brand products, said the MS931 LogXtra will be offered initially in five LS2 sizes and optional ply ratings.
The LogXtra line features a steel-belt-stabilized construction along with heavy duty shoulder and sidewall designed to resist cuts, cracks, impacts and punctures along with a high-performance rubber compound developed to maximize tire resilience in the working environment.
To prevent bead winding defects and protect against mounting damage, the LogXtra is built with an enhanced bead-wrapping process, Maxam said.
The new line also offers "excellent" traction and flotation thanks to its self-cleaning tread pattern that is deeper and wider than the industry standards.
The tire launches in sizes: 23.1-26; 28L-26; 24.5-32; 30.5L-32; and 35.5L-32.
