WAALWIJK, Netherlands — OTR tire supplier Magna Tyres Group has transitioned its operations to a new headquarters in Wallwijk, which includes warehousing as well as administration activities.
The new headquarters, which spans more 580,000 square feet, is located just a few miles from the firm's previous quarters in Waalwijk, city of about 48,000 in the southern Netherlands.
At the same time, Magna has moved its North American office in Canada to new quarters in Markham, Ontario, and added two individuals to its sales team there.
The new hires are:
• Andy Luu — logistics manager, responsible for coordinating and managing movements, in an effort to streamline activity and improve customer service. He brings years of experience in the supply chain industry to his new job.
• J.D. Lewis — sales manager, responsible for developing new business, increasing sales and productivity within the scope of market capabilities. He brings nearly a decade of tire-industry experience — including work with Michelin North America, Alliance Tire Group and Titan International — to his new position.
Magna said moving to a new office reflects its long-term commitment to customers in North America. Magna also opened a satellite U.S. sales office last year, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and hired industry veteran Robert Smith to manage the Florida office.
