LAS VEGAS — Wholesale distributor K&M Tire Inc. welcomed tire dealers and their families to their annual Tire Dealer Conference and Trade Show, being held Feb. 1-2 at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.
The annual event, titled "All In" as a nod to its locale, combined a trade show with conferences, seminars and a dinner and awards program.
Conference topics including:
- Hiring — specifically ARE (Acquiring, Retaining and Expanding) talent — with Sherri Miller, CEO and founder of Center for Extraordinary Success, followed by a next-day Q&A session on the topic;
- Passenger/light truck industry trends with a focus on the growing electric vehicle market from Joe Maher, Continental Tire The Americas product manager, and Nate Dodds, development engineer Nate Dodds;
- Agriculture industry opportunities with Chris Neidert, Trelleborg Wheel Systems North America's marketing, training and development manager; and
- Truck/bus radial industry trends with Mark McDonald, general manager commercial sales, North America, for Goodyear, who also took a look at the economy and worries about a looming recession.
Derek Daly, an Indy 500 and Formula One driver, delivered the keynote — "ALL IN to be EXTRAORDINARY!"
The trade show features popular games — the Continental Tire Cash Grab, Plinko cash drop from Hankook Tire and, fittingly, a slot pull from Kumho Tire. The event also features car giveaways and a karaoke contest with cash prize.
