MEXICO CITY — Forte Universal de Mexico, a leading Mexican tire importer and wholesale distributor, has hired industry veteran Angel Zepeda Berrelleza to be its managing director.

Mr. Zepeda moves to Forte Universal from TBC de México, where he was commercial and operations director until last October. He was with TBC for 28 years, Forte Universal said.

At Forte Universal, Mr. Zepeda will be responsible for "perpetuating the continuous growth the company has registered" and creating customized solutions that meet market needs and trends, leveraging the company's product portfolio to ensure nationwide distribution.

Mr. Zepeda joined the company that turned into TBC de Mexico in 1992 as branch manager in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and later took over responsibility for the commercial and operational areas as director for Mexico and Central America.

He eventually took over as head of sales, supervising sales teams locally and internationally.

"I feel proud and grateful for my professional development working for TBC de México," he said, "since this is where I started my carrier in the car industry in 1995. Afterwards, I began my journey in the tire business, where I was able grow my experience not only in Mexico, but also internationally.

In business for over 30 years, Forte Universal handles  Onyx-, Ovation- and Windforce-brand tires throughout Mexico.

Onyx and Ovation are brands owned and produced by Shandong Hengfeng Rubber & Plastic Co. Ltd.; and Windforce is a Shandong HaoHua brand.
