BOUCHERVILLE, Quebec — Distribution Stox Inc., a 4-year-old distributor partnership headquartered in Eastern Quebec, has acquired the distribution division of fellow Quebec wholesaler Les Pneus R. Guay Ltée.
The transaction includes a distribution center in Chicoutimi, Quebec. Saguenay, Quebec-based Les Pneus R. Guay has been in business since 1955 and distributes a wide range of tires under a dozen-plus brands plus wheels.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
According to Bruno Leclair, president and CEO, and Leif Ellefsen, executive vice-president and COO of Distribution Stox, the Boucherville-based distributor is "working to ensure a smooth transition" and "will maintain the objective of offering competitive programs and serving clients as efficiently as possible."
This marks the sixth acquisition Distribution Stox has made since it was founded in 2016 from a partnership of four tire distributors — Unimax Tire Ltd., Distribution Pneus RT, Distribution DSP and Distribu-Pneus.
In July 2019, Distribution Stox acquired Drummondville, Quebec-based Distribution CPP, which distributed passenger tires in parts of Montreal.
Today, the company operates 15 distribution centers in Quebec and two in Ontario, with 150 delivery vehicles. It said it has plans to expand from coast to coast.
"We consider customers as our highest priority," the executives said in a news release. "We maximize our strengths and energies to meet their requirements with an exclusive service."
Pneus R. Guay's roots start in Arvida, Quebec, with Raymond Guay and a FINA-brand gas station. Patrice Gagnon is listed as the business's owner.
