NEW YORK — The building that houses American Tire Distributors Inc.'s (ATD) distribution center in Harrisonburg, Va., has been put up for sale. The asking price is $7.2 million, according to a brokerage firm handling the listing.
B+E L.L.C., a New York-based investment brokerage firm specializing in net lease real estate, is in charge of the sale of the fully leased, 130,185 sq.-ft. distribution center.
The center sits on about 12.5 acres of land, of which 5.9 acres are undeveloped. ATD added 40,000 square feet to the structure in 2017 and has excess land for additional expansion or another building, according to the listing.
The site has a daily inventory turnover of +/- 4,000 tires, B+E said in the listing.
The sale will have no impact on ATD's operations from the site, according to an ATD spokesperson.
Huntersville, N.C.-based ATD, the nation's largest tire wholesaler, has a network of more than 140 distribution centers/mixing warehouses across North America. ATD leases all of its D/Cs, with the exception of one it owns in Maryland.
"We'll continue to serve customers from this D/C as we always have," the spokesperson said.
The building was developed in 1995 for Itco Tire, which ATD purchased in 1998. ATD has been in continuous occupancy since the purchase, and is committed to lease the facility for another six-plus years, according the B+E listing.
