New company Avantech debuts truck/bus tires in North America

NEWNAN, Ga. — A new company with ties to China's Qingdao Sentury Tire Co. Ltd. — Avantech Tires L.L.C. — is launching availability in North America of a range of Avantech-branded truck/bus tires sourced from Sentury Tire (Thailand) Co. Ltd.

The brand launches with a full range of drive, steer, all-position, regional and trailer tires in the most popular sizes, including some wide-base low-profile singles in the all-position fitment.

Avantech Tires — which is separate from and not affiliated with Sentury Tire USA — said it is targeting smaller dealerships throughout North America that in the past have not been able to compete with larger distributors and more well-known brands.

Orders will be container-load only, the company said. Pricing information was not disclosed.

The Avantech brand is being built at the 8-year-old Sentury Tire plant in Rayong, Thailand.

"We had to acknowledge the gap left in the market with our brands that we market through the large, major distributors," said Avantech Tires President Helen Yang, who worked at Sentury Tire for 21 years before joining Avantech Tires.

"We have developed the Avantech brand to directly fill that gap that will allow more companies to have a direct relationship with a manufacturer."

At Sentury Tire, Yang was sales director of overseas business center, overseeing the firm's international sales efforts.

The Aventech brand name was registered in the U.S. in 2017 by Qingdao Sentury Tire.

Avantech Tires are covered by a five-year limited treadwear and casing warranty.

The launch of the Avantech brand comes 18 months after Sentury Tire USA added truck/bus tires to its portfolio, under the Groundspeed brand. Last year it added a line of Delinte-brand truck tires.
