HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — American Tire Distributors Inc. (ATD) is planning a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 12 for a new distribution center in Louisville, Ky.
The new center is located about 10 miles south of downtown Louisville in an industrial district with ready access to Interstates 65 and 765. It's about five miles east of the facility ATD is vacating. It's the only D/C ATD operates in Kentucky.
ATD recently moved its D/C in Salt Lake City to a larger facility — located west of downtown Salt Lake City in a new warehouse district with ready access to Interstate 80 — that is designed to better fit its needs in the region.
The wholesale distributor occupied the leased structure in mid-February and held a ribbon-cutting for the 160,000-sq.-ft. facility on March 8.
ATD operates over 130 D/Cs across the U.S., including seven it acquired last year from Monro Inc. that operate under the Tires Now brand.
