BOWIE, Md. — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) will hold its only Certified Earthmover Tire Service (ETS) instructor training class of 2023 June 13-16 in Garner, Iowa.
Prerequisites for the 400-Level instructor course are TIA's Basic Commercial Tire Service (CTS) and Basic Earthmover Tire Service courses.
Course content includes:
• Safety guidelines, including personal protective equipment, safe lifting and heatstroke/frostbite identification and prevention;
• Speed restrictions, dual tire guidelines, dual- and single-tire matching guidelines, tire mixing recommendations, temperature and inflation pressure, rim to tire fitment, TPMS and TKHP, and tire/rim assembly weight; and
• Demounting, mounting and inflation procedures for a tubeless OTR tire on one-piece, three-piece and five-piece rims.
TIA's Director of Tire Service Matt White will teach the class.
Participants who complete the four-day course will be certified as TIA ETS instructors, qualifying them to certify ETS technicians in the field.
Tuition for the class is $1,950 for TIA members and $2,995 for non-members. Tuition does not cover hotel accommodations.
