BROOKSVILLE, Fla. — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is holding its first in-person 400-Level Certified Commercial Tire Service (CTS) Instructor training class of the year April 18-21in Florida.
The four-day class will cover all aspects of medium/heavy truck tire service and teach students how to instruct a 300-Level Certified Technician Course in the field. Classes will be held at AME International's headquarters/training facility in Brooksville.
Coursework is made up of 18 modules, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements, wheel service and torque, single-piece and multi-piece rim demounting, mounting and inflation and charts and tables.
TIA will hold an optional early session the first day, at no additional charge, designed for students with less than two years' experience servicing truck tires. Attendees will mount and demount a tire, as well as install and remove a wheel assembly from a commercial truck using impact and torque wrenches.
Students who successfully pass the course will receive a certificate and 13 uniform patches. Recertification is required every two years via an online exam.
The course is $950 and does not include hotel accommodations.
TIA will hold five in-person CTS training classes this year. Future courses are May 23-26 and Sept. 12-15 in Youngstown, Ohio; Oct.12-15 in Louisville, Ky.; and Dec. 5-8 back in Brooksville.
