Owners of 2006-08 Tribeca SUVs may come into your store complaining of a rattle from the front suspension when driving over rough road surfaces.
One likely cause of the noise, says Subaru, is a broken front stabilizer bar clamp and/or bolt. The breakage occurs because the stabilizer bar is molded inconsistently at the factory, which leads to excess stress placed on the clamp and/or bolt holding it to the front crossmember.
If a bolt has broken off in the crossmember, you'll need to drill it out before installing an improved stabilizer bar, part # 20401XA00A. The bar has a green paint dot on it that tells you it's an upgraded design. The part numbers for the clamp, bolts and retaining nuts are 20416XA00R9E, 010108200 and 023808000, respectively.
