Some 2011 Mustang Shelby GT500 models with 5.4-liter V8s may produce a steering wheel shudder and a drift/pull condition from the steering system under heavy braking.
According to Ford, the steering troubles are most obvious on vehicles built on or before Aug. 2, 2010, and likely are due to software gremlins in the electronic steering system's power steering control module (PSCM).
Reprogramming the module with updated software is the only reliable fix. Check with a dealer for the specifics of the flash.
