Hunter equipment wins two MOTOR Top 20 awards

LAS VEGAS — Hunter Engineering Co. snagged two wins in the MOTOR Top 20 Awards for its Maverick tire changer and the new Ultimate ADAS system.

The awards, which are voted on by industry professionals, honor the year's best new automotive innovations and products. The awards will be presented at AAPEX in Las Vegas in November.

"It's always gratifying to be named a winner in the MOTOR Top 20 contest, since products are voted on by fellow automotive industry professionals," Pete Liebetreu, Hunter vice president of product management and marketing, said. "To be named winner of two awards in the same year is really a special honor."

Hunter's Maverick tire changer is a premium center-clamp tire changer that keeps the technician completely in charge with smooth and fully variable operation, the company said. The Maverick's proportional controls combine low-speed functionality with on-demand faster operation, Hunter said.

"With the Maverick, technicians who prefer a more hands-on approach to tire changing will enjoy the freedom to adapt the process to their own precise needs," Liebetreu said. "Just as the Revolution raised the bar with fully autonomous tire changing, Maverick is doing the same for a traditional, technician-driven tire changer."

The Ultimate ADAS system — which was introduced earlier this year at Honda and Acura dealerships — is designed to eliminate error-prone manual layouts common to static ADAS calibrations. The system combines Hunter alignment technology with a guided target placement system — using a Gimbal-mounted laser — for around-the-vehicle coverage.

"It's named Ultimate for a reason," Liebetreu said. "It's the fastest and most precise ADAS calibration system available. Techs can get right down to business and be assured of a properly performed and documented calibration every time."

Other Top 20 winners include:

• Torqata Data & Analytics: "Torqata has rolled out a retail product suite that pushes the limits of optimization in the industry, allowing retailers, manufacturers and distributors to shave off inefficiencies and increase profit across the board," the awards program said.
• Snap-on Equipment's John Bean Tru-Point 360 View Calibrations: The Tru-Point TGT-05 accessory simplifies the 360 calibrations for manufacturers using vinyl mats.
• Snap-on Diagnostics ZEUS+ diagnostic tool.
