Some 2016-21 CX-5 SUVs may produce an annoying squeaking sound from the rear brakes under light pedal application.
According to Mazda, the noise is most obvious at slower speeds and is most likely the result of too much clearance between the caliper support guide plates and the caliper support.
Installing double-sided adhesive tape from a special kit, part # D6Y1-33-23XA, should take up the clearance and eliminate the noise. The kit contains eight pieces of tape, enough to do both rear brakes. When installing the tape, make sure it goes on the side of the guide plate that makes contact with the caliper support, as shown in the illustration.
