Owners of 2005-06 Chrysler 300s and Dodge Magnums and Chargers, as well as 2006 Chrysler 300C models (all with 2.7- or 3.5-liter engines), may come into your store with a complaint that there's a 3-5 second delay between turning the ignition key and when the starter motor actually engages.
According to Chrysler, the starting trouble is often intermittent, and may be accompanied by an illuminated Check Engine light and trouble code P0573 if the vehicle gets stuck on a slippery surface and the vehicle is rocked back-and-forth with the gearshift lever (Drive to Reverse or Reverse to Drive).
Software glitches in the PCM are the root cause of the troubles. Reprogramming the module with updated calibration files should eliminate further issues. Check with a dealer for the application specifics of the flash.
