Owners of 2006-07 Pontiac Solstice models with 2.0- or 2.4-liter engines may come into your store with a complaint that the air temperature from the air conditioner registers fluctuates from cold to warm as the vehicle goes from idle up to cruising speed.
According to GM, the problem only afflicts vehicles built before VIN breakpoint 7Y139825, and is due to design flaws in the A/C condenser. Installing an improved condenser, part #19130430, and charging the system with a revised refrigerant charge of 1.03 lbs. should bring back the cool to the two-seater.
Note: Vehicles with 2.4-liter engines will also require the installation of a revised power steering cooler, part # 15885986, in addition to the new a/c condenser.
