CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Driven Brands Inc. has acquired Advance Kwik Lube, a chain of quick lube and automotive service centers with 25 outlets in Texas, and plans to convert the outlets to its Take 5 Oil Change brand over time.
Terms of the deal, which will extend Take 5's footprint to 375 locations, were not disclosed.
Adding Advance Kwik Lube to the Take 5 business "continues our strategy of aggressively expanding Take 5's differentiated automotive service platform," Driven Brands CEO Jonathan Fitzpatrick said.
The acquired locations predominantly are in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Midland-Odessa, Amarillo and Lubbock, Texas, metro markets, Driven Brands said.
"Since opening in 1998, we've been incredibly proud of our business and employees and are happy to see them continue to grow with Take 5," Earl Erdmann, the previous owner, said.
"We've been very pleased with how Take 5 has handled the acquisition and integration process, and couldn't be happier with the outcome."
Driven Brands, franchisor of Meineke Car Care and other auto repair businesses, acquired Take 5 in 2016 and made it its core oil-change/lube business brand.
This is the second acquisition for the Take 5 brand this year, following the purchase in February of Super-Lube, a chain of 48 quick lube and automotive service centers in Alabama, Florida, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.
