MANDELLO DEL LARIO, Italy — Italian car repair equipment maker CEMB S.p.A. has acquired M&B Engineering S.r.l., an Italian firm that produces tire changers and other auto service equipment.
CEMB, which makes wheel balancers and wheel-alignment equipment, said it will partner with M&B Engineering — founded in 2006 and headquartered in Corregio, Italy — to develop tire changers.
Production of the new tire changers will be located at M&B Engineering's facilities in Corregio and supported by specialists selected by CEMB.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
CEMB said it abandoned plans in the 1980s to build tire changers to focus on other products. The company called the return to tire changers "a necessary step to achieve total quality and efficiency."
Founded in 1946, Mandello del Lario-based CEMB said it will look to develop more commercial and strategic synergies with M&B.
The deep M&B Engineering sector know-how, together with CEMB experience in designing, producing and marketing, will allow to best manage future challenges and market requirement," CEMB said.
