LEESBURG, Va. — The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) will mark its 50th anniversary with a yearlong celebration promoting its milestones in certifying vehicle service professionals.
From its initial offering of four automobile tests in 1972, the non-profit ASE today offers 57 tests and certifications from automobile and medium-heavy truck to transit and school bus, collision repair, parts, military and others.
There are approximately 250,000 ASE-certified professionals working in dealerships, independent shops, collision repair shops, auto parts stores, fleets, schools and colleges throughout the country, the ASE said.
ASE recently unveiled a commemorative logo in recognition of its 50th anniversary and is encouraging industry organizations to feature the commemorative logo to show their support of ASE.
Throughout the year, ASE said it will share historical information, conduct special programs and showcase ASE-certified service professionals and the essential work they perform to keep vehicles safe and operational.
