BETHESDA, Md. — The Auto Care Association (ACA) has published 2019 Mexico Market Report: An Assessment of Mexico's Light Passenger Vehicle Aftermarket.
This is the second edition of the ACA's Mexico report, according to the association. Developed in partnership with the research firm Integrate Data Facts (IDF), the report provides a comprehensive look at the size and scope of Mexico's auto care sector, the ACA said.
The 2019 report provides a wide range of data on the Mexican aftermarket, including vehicles in operation, average vehicle size, miles driven, manufacturing employment, total aftermarket value and trade value, according to the ACA.
The majority of Mexico's trade is conducted with the U.S., the ACA said, with $830 billion in total goods and services traded between the two countries in 2017.
From 2010 to 2018, manufacturing employment in Mexico has more than doubled for car, truck and auto parts, with 86 percent of those jobs specifically in auto parts production.
The report provides crucial information needed to thrive in the Mexican aftermarket, which is projected to amount to more than $25 billion in 2021, the association said.
The report is available for purchase online in the ACA's Auto Care Digital Hub for $2,500 per copy. ACA members get the discounted rate of $800, the association said.
