LAS VEGAS — "Your Car/Your Data/Your Choice," a national advocacy campaign for consumer access to digital vehicle data, is getting a publicity boost from the racing community, where three top NHRA drag racing stars are lending their voices to the campaign.
The latest to join the effort is two-time NHRA Pro Stock champion Erica Enders, who said, "As a professional driver, I understand how vital it is to choose who repairs your car. It's essential we alert the nation's drivers this right could be in jeopardy."
Ms. Enders, who drives a 1,400-hp Chevy Camaro for the Melling Engine Parts-sponsored team and is in the running for a third Pro Stock title, joins fellow NHRA stars Clay Millican and Blake Alexander in support of the campaign. Messrs. Millican and Alexander met with lawmakers recently on Capitol Hill in Washington to discuss the issue and the ways it could impact drivers across the country.
"This is simple stuff," said Mr. Millican, who competes in the NHRA's Top Fuel category. "If you own your car, you should own every part of it, including the data it transmits."
