LAS VEGAS — Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels garnered its fair share of accolades at the recent Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, taking home a trio of SEMA Global Media Awards and an Export Achievement Certificate from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
In judging by the international press corps attending the SEMA Show, Mickey Thompson earned Global Media Awards — which recognize the growing trend of automotive personalization and customization throughout the world — for advertising efforts for its off-road products in Australia, Canada and France:.
- 4WD TV in Australia, for Baja Boss tires, selected by Simon Christie;
- Generation 4x4 magazine in France, for Baja Pro X tires, selected by Jerome Andre; and
- 4WDrive magazine in Canada, for Baja Pro XS tires, selected by Perry Mack.
"The 2019 SEMA Show was a great example of our continued dedication to global growth," Ken Warner, vice president of marketing for Mickey Thompson, said.
"Adding three Global Media Awards on top of the recognition for our Export Achievement Certificate shows that our products are appreciated and desired by a worldwide audience."
Prior to the start of the show, the Commerce Department singled out the Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. subsidiary for its efforts to increase sales and strengthen business relationships in China and the Middle East.
Commerce Department officials presented the certificate to Mickey Thompson execs at a ceremony held Nov. 6 during the International Happy Hour at the 2019 SEMA Show.
