LAS VEGAS — Mickey Thompson announced two 42-inch size additions to its Baja Boss X line at the SEMA Show.
The Boss X, also known as the “Sticky Mickey,” is a non-DOT certified extreme-terrain race tire.
Mickey Thompson, a Goodyear brand, said the products are a result of successful launches of 42-inch sized Baja Boss M/T tires.
Ben Anderson, senior product manager of light truck and off-road, said when the 42-inch Baja Boss M/T hit the market in summer, customers immediately started asking for a Boss X addition.
“So, we have the 42x13.50R17 and 42x13.50R20 coming in the Boss X, slated for January – one month before the King of Hammers,” he said, adding that the annual California event is the first big off-road race of the year where vehicles will use Boss X tires.
The Baja Boss X, which was first introduced in 2020, is built with Mickey Thompson’s “Sticky Mickey” compound and PowerPly construction for extreme off-road traction.
