Kumho launches 3 Ecsta UHP products

LAS VEGAS — Kumho Tire USA is bolstering its ultra-high performance (UHP) lineup, unveiling three products in the Ecsta Sport family during the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

The tires, which are being showcased at the Kumho booth in the Silver Lot, include the Ecsta Sport All-Season PA71; the Ecsta Sport PS72; and the Ecsta Sport S PS72.

The tires will be available to dealers in the spring of 2025.

According to Kumho, the three tires include a next-generation compound and a tread design technology that "push the boundaries of innovation to deliver superior performance of enhanced grip, wet weather performance and overall tread life."

The Ecsta Sport All-Season PA71 is available in 56 sizes, fitting rim diameters between 16 inches and 21 inches.

The Ecsta Sport PS72 is available in 56 sizes, and the Ecsta Sport S PS72 comes in 52 sizes: both fitting rim diameters between 17 inches and 22 inches.

The Ecsta Sport UHP All-Season PA71 features a next-generation compound technology that Kumho said enchances grip and traction, rain or shine, "without sacrificing performance characteristics." It comes with a 50,000-mile treadwear warranty.

Kumho said the product can handle the horsepower of today's high-performance vehicles, with wide and stiff outside tread blocks that add cornering stability. The lateral grooves in the tread design drain water to maintain performance in wet weather.

In addition, the all-season tire performs well in snow, enhanced with zig-zag grooves on the inside tread blocks. The tire is comfortable and quiet,Kumho said, with rounded edges of the tread blocks to minimize noise and provide comfort by dispersing road noise.

The tire has Kumho's "K-noise defender," a dimple design to interrupt air flow through the tire grooves and further minimize road noise.

Shawn Denlein, president of sales and marketing for Kumho Tire U.S.A, said the Ecsta Sport All-Season PA71 "offers true performance and grip, is excellent in wet weather and features a high-mileage warranty. This tire pushes the limits of what is possible in an all-season, high-performance tire."

The new UHP summer tire, available in two tread configurations (Ecsta Sport PS72 , Ecsta Sport S PS72), is the "most advanced ultra-high performance summer tire Kumho Tire has ever developed, showcasing more than 60 years of design and engineering innovation," Kumho said.

The enhanced compound produces outstanding traction and water evacuation, Kumho said, providing grip as well as handling, stability, cornering and steering response.

The Ecsta Sport and Ecsta Sport S PS72 have a 30,000-mile treadwear warranty.

Denlein said the three products are Kumho's "most technologically advanced ultra-high performance tires that set a new standard for what a high-performance tire can and should be."
