LAS VEGAS — Incoming Tire Industry Association President Debra Hamlin, vice president and director of operations, Bridgestone Commercial Dealer Network, will be part of a panel discussion on Nov. 5 at the 2024 SEMA Show dubbed: "Elevate Your Professional Journey: Master Confidence, Communication, and Leadership Skills."
The panel is part of a six-hour program being held on the opening day of the SEMA Show that's designed to offer business owners and executive leaders the opportunity to glean insights and acquire the essential skills of "confident and assertive leadership" within the automotive aftermarket sector, according to the Specialty Equipment Market Association, organizer of the SEMA Show.
The program — presented by Dale Carnegie & Associates Global Inc. — will run 9 a.m. through 3 p.m. in the West Hall (Room W317) of the Las Vegas Convention Center on Nov. 5.
Following the panel discussion featuring "seasoned" industry leaders, participants will engage in a series of three interactive workshops spanning more than four hours. Those participating will be invited to delve into learning and honing the abilities required to lead with confidence, empower their teams, and achieve tangible results, SEMA said.
During the workshop sessions, participants will learn strategies to boost their confidence, practices to build assertiveness and the Dale Carnegie principles of cooperation to influence, address challenges and have effective communication with their employees.
The panel discussion — "The Power of Assertive Leadership in Today's Fast-Fueled Workplace." — will open the session. Those scheduled to take part, in addition to Hamlin, are: Colby McLaughlin, president of Trim Illusion; Melissa Scoles, president/CEO of QA1 Precision Products, Inc.; Karen Betz, managing partner and corporate consultant at Dale Carnegie Training; and Brett Campbell, certified corporate trainer at Dale Carnegie Training.
The breakout sessions are:
Session 1: The Confident Leader: Communicate with Impact;
