LAS VEGAS — Sumitomo Rubber North America (SRNA)'s Falken brand and TBC Corp.'s Trailer King brand have been deemed to have outgrown other brands the U.S. in the past year in their respective market segments.

According to Circana Group — formerly IRI and NPD Group — the two brands were singled out as tops in the the passenger/light truck and specialty trailer tire market categories, respectively, based on the market analysis firm's annual Retail Tracking Service monitoring, which reports sales data collected from a panel of retailers including automotive specialty, mass market, tires, e-commerce and others.

The awards, announced by Circana at the AAPEX Show in Las Vegas. recognize brands that achieved the top increases in U.S. market share in key areas of the aftermarket and tires industries.

This is the fifth time Circana or its predecessor groups have made such recognitions. In 2022, NPD declared that Michelin and Carlisle (now Carlstar) were the top brands in their respective categories — passenger/heavy-duty truck tires and ATV/UTV/sport/trailer tires — a year ago.
Circana did not state how much the brands' share increased nor their actual brand share nor elaborate on its methodology in determining which brands did better in the marketplace.

Rob Montasser, vice president of sales for Falken, called the award a "testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire SRNA team. Additionally, we would like to express our gratitude to our dealer partners across North America for trusting the Falken brand, and for their support in our growth within their businesses."

Falken attributed the award to its commitment to innovation, quality, tire design and customer satisfaction.
