MUMBAI, India — Retread industry supplier Marangoni Group has signed its first franchisee in North India — Manoj Tyres, an existing retreader in Kanpur, India.
Manoj previously used retreading material from two Indian retreading companies before deciding to switch to Marangoni, according to the Roverto, Italy-based supplier of tread rubber, retread equipment and technology. .
Marangoni said a new greenfield facility at a new site, with new equipment including Marangoni's Ringtreader RT920, has been commissioned.
Hemant Kaul, CEO, Marangoni, India, said his company now has a experienced partner who understands what Marangoni brings to fleets.
Manoj Agarwal, who has operated the dealership for more than 30 years, said he felt the need to "future-proof" his business and therefore focused on the Marangoni technology.

Earlier this year, Marangoni acquired 100% of a joint venture company it had established in 2015, Marangoni GRP Pvt. Ltd. The Indian subsidiary is now called Marangoni South Asia Pvt. Ltd.
