AVON PARK, Fla. — PRIDE Enterprises, an "inmate training company" that operates a number of businesses employing inmates from Florida's prison system, is adding a Marangoni Ringtread system production line to the retread plant it operates at the Avon Park Correctional Facility.
PRIDE — Prison Rehabilitative Industries and Diversified Enterprises Inc. — will operate the Ringtread system production line alongside the existing retread production, which is monitored by Pre-Q Galgo Rubber Ltd.
PRIDE services fleets throughout Florida both direct, and through a "strategic network" of associate dealers, the enterprise said. The existing plant is rated at 60,000 units a year and is certified to the ISO 9001:2018 standard.
Clif Armstrong, president of Marangoni Tread N.A., called PRIDE a "great addition" to the Marangoni Ringtread family of retreaders that value high- performance products, value-added partnerships and business independence.
Marangoni did not disclose the new production line's expected capacity.
PRIDE is a member of the Tire Industry Association and Tire Retread and Repair Information Bureau.
