WATERBURY, Conn. — VIP Tires & Service has donated $2,320 donation to Waterbury Public Schools in Connecticut, culminating its "Oil Changes for Education" initiative.
Richard DiBeneditto, VIP's store manager at its Waterbury location, and Greg Bagley, VIP's special projects manager, presented the funds recently to Waterbury Public Schools Interim Superintendent Darren Schwartz. The funds can be used by the Waterbury school community for any project it identifies.
Privately-owned VIP, which acquired Joe's Tire Shop in March, held a customer appreciation event on July 10, kicking off the "Oil Changes for Education" program that ended Aug. 21. VIP offered $10 oil changes with 100% of proceeds going to the local school community.
VIP also offered a service deal during the period, offering $50 off any service of $100 or more.

"The Oil Changes for Education program is just one small way for us to give back to the communities that support VIP stores throughout New England," VIP President and CEO Tim Winkeler said.
