BOWIE, Md. — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) and MOHR Retail are hosting virtual leadership training courses for both retail and commercial dealerships starting in September.
The course is focused on developing interpersonal and leadership skills that tire store managers need to create connections, coach and retain their teams and enhance productivity, deliver exceptional performance and customer service.
Both the virtual Commercial Tire Store Leadership (vCTSL) class and virtual Retail Tire Store Leadership (vRTSL) classes consist of eight two-hour sessions.
Topics include: Role of the Leader; Discovering Your Leadership Style; Communication Skills; Setting Performance Expectations; Improving Below Standard Performance; Effective Floor & Field Supervision; and Coaching in Real Time.
Class size is limited to 16.Tuition for each class is $750.
Students will bring real-world scenarios for either retail or commercial operations to use as practice during the sessions, according to Michael Patrick of MOHR Retail, who has taught these courses for the past two years.
The classes are intended for commercial and retail tire store owners, managers, assistant managers and service and shop managers.
The commercial tire leadership class is scheduled for Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon Eastern time, starting Sept. 5 and running through Oct. 24. The retail leadership class is 10 a.m. to noon Eastern time, being held Wednesdays, from Sept. 6 to Oct. 25.
