SimpleTire contest to honor healthcare workers

PHILADELPHIA — Online tire retailer SimpleTire L.L.C. has launched a campaign to honor healthcare workers during National Nurses Week, May 6-12.

Starting May 4 through May 17, the retailer is accepting nominations through its website for outstanding health care workers across the U.S. who have worked the front lines of the pandemic for the past year.

Three winners — nominees along with their nominators — will be randomly selected to receive a set of new tires as a way to express thanks.

"Anyone can nominate a health care worker to win and we'll be featuring stories about health care workers across the nation throughout our campaign on our socials," SimpleTire said.

The company said this campaign was inspired by the work of Alamogorgo School in New Mexico. The school nurse has been bringing health and wellness services directly to the local community during the COVID pandemic via the school's 40-foot Winnebego-turned-mobile nurses' station nicknamed "Flo."

"We offered them some new tires for Flo, and now we want to donate tires to more health care workers across the country to keep them safe and to allow them to continue their great work, too."

SimpleTire said it has been offering a 5% discount for health care workers and members of the military, in addition to supporting other case-by-case causes with sponsored tires.
