ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Monro Inc. is expanding its tire installation partnership with Amazon.com to its nationwide network of 1,200-plus automotive service shops.
The expansion starts July 29.
"Our collaboration enhances Monro's customer-centric services and omni-channel capabilities, while providing Amazon.com's customers with direct access to one of the nation's largest automotive service companies," Monro President and CEO Brett Ponton said.
"We are excited to work alongside Amazon.com to provide increased convenience and high-quality professional service to their customers in 32 states."
Monro's tire installation services are available to customers who purchase tires from Amazon and select the "ship-to-store" option.
Headquartered in Rochester, Monro has 1,247 company-operated stores, 97 franchised locations, seven wholesale locations and three retread facilities.The company operates in 32 states, serving the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions and portions of the Great Lakes, Midwest, Southeast and Western U.S.
"The roll-out of our collaboration with Amazon.com across our entire store base represents a key milestone in the development of our online presence, a critical component of our Monro.Forward strategy," Mr. Ponton said.
The program was tested in July 2018 at stores in the greater Baltimore, Md. area, and, by May 2019, had expanded to more than 800 locations in 21 states.
