LEESBURG, Va. — Maybe "grand opening" isn't the best way to describe Virginia Tire & Auto's latest store launch.
When Mario Andretti is involved, better to call it "super."
The auto racing legend and Firestone brand ambassador visited with fans and signed autographs at the Oct. 15 grand opening of Virginia Tire's newest store, in Leesburg.
The store is a greenfield construction in The Shops at Russell Branch in southeast Leesburg, in a developing area of the city of 53,000 residents.
The 12-bay facility features state-of-the-art equipment, a comfortable waiting area, complimentary refreshments, free Wi-Fi and a kids' play area, Virginia Tire said. The dealership broke ground on the store in August 2020.
The location, which opened in June, is Virginia Tire's 18th retail store in Northern Virginia and the seventh location in Loudon County.
Virginia Tire is considered to be among the 60 largest retail dealerships in North America, according to Tire Business research, with 18 retail locations.
