Goodyear offering service discounts through company retail stores

AKRON — Goodyear — through its Goodyear Auto Service and Just Tires retail businesses — is offering "significant" savings throughout March on tires and a range of automotive services through a March Deal Days promotion.

The promotion includes discounts on services such as oil changes, alignments, batteries, brake service, etc. along with free safety checks.

"It's important for drivers to have their vehicles checked for necessary maintenance as they prepare for upcoming months of travel following the winter driving season, which can pose a variety of challenges for your car," Sam Rosen, manager of the Goodyear Auto Service store in Fort Drum, N.Y., said in a statement provided by Goodyear.

To help promote the event, Goodyear has enlisted Major League Baseball (MLB) announcer and former player Kevin Millar as a spokesman for the importance of spring car care, which it's describing as a "different kind of 'spring training.'"

"March Deal Days aims to make springtime auto maintenance affordable and convenient for motorists," Mr. Millar said, "and our technicians have the knowledge and expertise to get drivers' cars road-ready for the busy spring and summer driving seasons."

Mr. Millar — who played a dozen seasons with the Boston Red Sox, Florida Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays — said, "Like spring training — where ballplayers focus on the fundamentals and prepare for a long baseball season — my friends at Goodyear Auto Service and Just Tires have the same mindset for auto maintenance and upcoming driving seasons.

"They are committed to exceeding expectations and delivering on auto service needs, helping drivers get the most out of their cars," he said.

Goodyear has 472 Goodyear Auto Care and 101 Just Tires outlets throughout the U.S. The deals are staggered throughout the month:

• The entire month — save 20% on oil changes (excluding diesel);
• March 2-6 — free battery check and 20% off the purchase and installation of any battery;
• March 9-13 — free pothole check, which includes a check of the alignment and shocks and struts, and 20% off an alignment and the purchase of shocks and struts;
• March 16-20 — free brake check and 20% off any brake service; and
• March 16-31 — $20 discount per tire when purchasing and installing a set of four Goodyear or Dunlop tires.

In addition, the stores are offering undisclosed savings on Endurance trailer tires, three-year alignment program, three-year Pit Stop Package savings (Just Tires locations only) and other undisclosed rebates on select tires and services.

Mr. Millar, a self-described "car guy" and avid road-tripper, is conducting a series of media interviews and events throughout March to help promote the deals.
