Fountain Tire has been named one of Canada's Best Managed Companies yet again.

EDMONTON, Alberta — Canadian Tire Corp., Fountain Tire, Mr. Lube Canada GP Inc. and Point S Canada have been named to the 2023 list of Canada's Best Managed Companies, which recognizes excellence in Canada-headquartered companies.

Canadian Tire, Fountain Tire and Mr. Lube earned platinum status, while Point S was ranked among the gold winners. The quartet are among 486 companies so recognized by Deloitte Canada, the company responsible for the ranking.

For Fountain Tire, this marks the 30th year in a row on the list, which was established in 1994.

Hundreds of companies compete annually for the designation as part of an independent process that evaluates the caliber of their management abilities and practices.

Fountain Tire CEO, Jason Herle said the company is honored to be selected again.

"Fountain Tire has seen a lot of change since we were first granted the award in 1994, including our leadership, the ways we work and our geographic footprint," Herle said, "but one thing has remained steady: our fundamental culture of people and partnerships has always driven the company's success."

Fountain Tire said it was selected for the award for its "people-first approach, including customer relations, supportive corporate culture and innovative business model, wherein local leaders split ownership of their store 50/50 with the company."

Among the factors that Fountain credits for winning the award include investment in digital technologies to improve productivity and customer interaction; enhanced supply chain and distribution networks to better serve customers; and, an increased focus on diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.

"People have always been at the center of our business strategy," Herle said. "We set out to deliver an exceptional customer experience while fostering the development, inclusivity and success of our associates and store owners."

Canadian Tire is one of Canada's largest general retailers with over 1,700 locations, including several hundred that offer tires and related services.

Richmond, British Columbia-based Mr. Lube is the franchisor of a quick lube and automotive service business concept with 170-plus locations. This is its 11th straight year on the list.

Boucherville, Quebec-based Point S Canada manages networks of independent tire and auto service retailers in Canada under seven retail banners in Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes, representing over 850 points of sale.
