CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill Tire is honoring "the unwavering dedication and hard work of educators within the community," recently distributing more than 5,000 gift cards for complimentary oil changes to teachers in the Chapel Hill, Carroboro, Raleigh, Durham, Apex and Cary schools in the Triangle area of North Carolina.
By offering free oil changes, Chapel Hill hoped to help educators maintain their vehicles' health and ensure they have reliability transportation, "enabling them to focus on their paramount mission of educating and inspiring young minds."
Chapel Hill was guided by their core value of "be grateful and helpful." Teachers often have demanding schedules with limited free time, leaving little time for vehicle maintenance, the company said.
"Chapel Hill Tire deeply values the incredible work performed by teachers each day, shaping the lives of our community's youth. We are committed to supporting and recognizing their dedication. Providing them with a well-deserved opportunity to have their vehicles serviced as they head into summer break is our way of showing appreciation," President Marc Pons said.
Chapel Hill said the initiative was met with an overwhelmingly positive response by both teachers and the local community.
