DRAPER, Utah — Burt Brothers Tire & Service has opened its 12th location, a former Firestone Complete Car Care outlet in Draper that the dealership acquired earlier this year and converted to its own identity.
The location was one of 13 Firestone stores that Bridgestone Retail Operations shut earlier this year after losing the master lease on them.
The Draper shop features 12 service bays and a lube center and will have a renovated showroom by early 2020, Burt Brothers said. The new location will offer the company's signature "extras" for customers, including free WiFi and water and "immaculate" restrooms.
"We are told that other Firestone stores around the state are being torn down and replaced with other types of businesses," dealership owner Jeremy Burt said, "but we are very excited about acquiring this store and continuing to provide top quality tires and service for all the loyal Firestone customers and Draper residents."
Mr. Burt said that this location in Draper — a suburb of Salt Lake City with about 42,000 inhabitants — fills a void for the company in the south end of the Salt Lake area.
"Our goal is to make our services accessible to everyone in the Northern Utah area, but this was a bit of a dead spot for us," he said. "We are now able to serve the people of Draper with all of their automotive needs."
The dealership did not disclose its investment to acquire and renovate the store.
Burt Brothers Tire is the largest family-owned and -operated chain of tire stores and auto repair centers along Utah's Wasatch Front. Firestone is one of Burt Brothers' featured tire brands, making this a fitting addition to the dealership's store network.
In addition to Firestone, Burt Brothers carries dozens of other popular brands, including Bridgestone, Continental, Dunlop, Goodyear, Hankook, Kelly, Michelin, Pirelli, Toyo, etc.
The dealership is part of the Goodyear Tires & Service network, is a Valvoline Instant Oil Change franchisee and a AAA-accredited repair facility that employs ASE-certified technicians.
