Black's Tire Service holds leadership conference

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Black's Tire Service Inc. (BTS) held its 2023 Sales & Leadership Conference recently at in Myrtle Beach, gathering as a team for the first time in person since in three years.

More than 600 BTS members and their families, along with 30 tire, parts and supply vendors joined in on the weekend celebration, helping BTS celebrate its 94th year in business. The theme of the event was "Let's go together."

"It was nice to be back live with our BTS team and families," Rick Benton, BTS' vice president of sales and marketing, said. The last time the group gathered in person was in January 2020.

Benton said the team focused on building on Black's Tire core values "that have built our company since back in 1929:" Team; family; trust; serve.

In addition, the group celebrated the dealership raising more than $175,000 to support one of Black's Tire's favorite charities, the Boys & Girls Home Charity. The president of organization attended the event.

The first night of the conference was a 1970s theme party, while the second night was team-building with competition at Top Golf in Myrtle Beach.

BTS held its annual BTS "Ace" awards banquet on the final night. The event is named after and in memory of long-time BTS team member Kenny "Ace" Bullard, who passed away a few years ago.

Chris Rice, president of Kaulig Racing, was the keynote speaker.
