SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Big O Tires L.L.C. franchisees Kent and Kory Coleman reported sales last year of $8 million at one of their six stores in Utah, a record volume for the Big O franchise system, parent TBC Corp. said recently.

The Coleman brothers, Big O franchisees since 2006, were the Big O franchisees of the year in 2018 and the International Franchise Association's franchisees of the year in 2014, TBC reported.

"This milestone is very important to us. However, what's even more rewarding is the pride that our teammates exude as a result," Kent Coleman said, noting the business — Big O Tires of Northern Utah — employs more than 100 in Utah at its six stores.

"Our goal has been and will continue to be to exceed the expectations of our customers and to continue developing our people, processes and facilities to be the best Big O Tires we can be for our community."

The top-grossing store has 18 service bays in two adjoining structures located just a few blocks south of downtown Salt Lake City.

According to TBC, the Colemans believe the recipe for success lies in investing in their business, their people, their facilities and their community to create a long-term impact.

They have created a workplace their team members are proud of and continually strive to exceed customer expectations, as shown by their recent success, the positive feedback from their team and recognition they have received, TBC added.

The Colemans bought their first Big O store in 2006 in Murray, Utah, and bought a second one shortly thereafter in Salt Lake City. They also have two stores in Ogden, Utah, and one in Bountiful, Utah.

In all, there are 42 franchised Big O stores in Utah.

"Kent and Kory are exemplary franchisees," John Kairys, TBC vice president and general manager for Big O Tires, said. "They exemplify the team you trust.

"We've been fortunate to work alongside the team since 2006 and have witnessed the strength of the team and their willingness to go above and beyond for one another and for their customers; their commitment to excellence is second to none."

The Colemans also are co-owners and officers of Utilitem, a utility consulting and auditing business.
