PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic — OK Tire store owners Curtis and Gregory Evans, James Watt and Steven Marshman were honored recently for operating the franchise group's best store, in Strathmore, Alberta.
The partners were singled out for their community involvement, which includes event sponsorships and initiatives, earning them the title "Best in Community Service." They also are active in giving back to the community, collecting more than 1,500 pounds of food for the local food bank three years in a row, OK Tire said.
"We're extremely honored to receive this award," Curtis Evans said. "The Strathmore community is near and dear to us, and to be recognized among our peers is truly a gift.
"As part of the over 300 hard-working, professional and dedicated stores across Canada representing OK Tire, we know putting our best foot forward is important to our loyal customers. Our motto 'Honestly Driven' has always been our focus, and we know we wouldn't be here today without the hard work from our staff, and trust from our customers."
The partners — Steve, Greg and Curtis, who switched their independent store to OK Tire signage five years ago; Mr. Watt, a former OK Tire corporate employee, was hired to manage the store a year later — received their award at OK Tire Stores Inc.'s annual dealer conference, held recently in Punta Cana.
