PILOT MOUNTAIN, N.C. — Thomas Jasper Beroth Jr., who owned and operated Stokes Tire & Automotive for 44 years, died July 7 after a two-year battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He was 65.
According to his obituary, Beroth owned and operated Stokes Tire & Automotive in King, N.C., for 44 years, growing the the tire business to seven other locations, as part of the Mock-Beroth Tire Group, working alongside his father, son and nephew.
Beroth is survived by his wife, Linda Johnson Beroth; to whom he had been married for 40 year; his children, Thomas J. Beroth III "TJ"; and Olivia and Crystie Beroth Strawbridge and Mike; and several grandchildren
