JIANDE CITY, China — Chinese tire maker Zhongce Rubber Group Co. Ltd. (ZC Rubber) has relocated truck tire production at its factory in Jiande City, Zhejiang Province, to another facility located nearby.
ZC Rubber, China's largest tire maker and No. 9 worldwide, said the move was made at the request of the government and is part of the municipal replanning that envisages a new commercial purpose for the site.
Established in 1970, the Yangxi facility has the capacity to produce 2.8 million truck tires a year, including 1 million all-steel radial tires.
In a written statement issued on April 27, ZC Rubber said the capacity has been moved to an existing structure in Chunqiu Village, Xiaya Town, Jiande City.
The Xiaya plant has the capacity to produce 10.5 million units of truck and bus radial tires per year, according to the company.
ZC Rubber recently acquired Tianjin United Tire & Rubber International Co (TUTRIC) as part of its global expansion strategy. TUTRIC manufactures the Tianli tire brand and will be integrated as Zhongce Rubber (Tianjin) Co. Ltd.
