NORWELL, Mass. — Sullivan Tire Co. has promoted longtime employee Joseph Zaccheo to president and CEO, assuming roles held up to now by Robert Sullivan, who will retain the chairman's role.
Zaccheo, formerly chief finanical officer and chief operating officer, will oversee the Norwell-based, family-owned dealership, which has 111 points of sale throughout New England.
Zaccheo, a licensed CPA, has been with Sullivan for 26 years, beginning his career with the company in the finance department.
Paul J. Sullivan, vice president of marketing and vice chair for Sullivan Tire, called Zaccheo a "key part of our family."
Sullivan said Zaccheo has been a "constant source of support and strategic guidance as we have grown the company and as we have all persevered through the many challenges of the last two years.
"Each day Joe demonstrates his leadership ability and industry foresight, and we are excited to see all that he will accomplish in taking on this role."
Zaccheo grew up in Quincy, Mass., and graduated from Boston College High School and Boston College. He holds a graduate degree from Bentley University.
Before joining Sullivan, Zaccheo worked at O'Connor and Drew in Quincy.
One of Zaccheo's favorite charities, according to Sullivan, is the Old Colony YMCA, where he has been an active member of its board of directors for several years.
He lives in Hanson, Mass., with his wife Denise, and the couple has three adult children.
